OCTOBER BOOK GROUP
There is a sign in our local Penzeys Spice Shop that says “Embrace Hope.” Let’s gather and discover how to have hope in our lives. We may be worried about the “big” things - climate change, political upheaval, war and famine. Or, we may be worried about “small” things more personal to us - relationships, illness, work and vocation. We will read Hope-A User’s Manual by MaryAnn McKibben Dana. This book is divided into 6 chapters, each consisting of 6-8 short essays with included reflections. We will gather to talk about which ideas resonate the most with us and how we can use these ideas to have more genuine hope in our lives. If you like to journal, there are excellent prompts in here. There are also several additional resources online to complement this book. The group will be facilitated by Grace Harris.
