How Does Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Vision Thrive?
A Conversation with the Head of the local NAACP, A Scholar, and A Priest
The President of the NAACP, a Scholar, and a Preacher will explore the meaning, history, and present reality of Becoming Beloved Community, Dr. King’s singular vision of racial reconciliation. Kirstyne Lange, President of the Sonoma County NAACP, will describe the present Sonoma County experience. Jennifer Snow, Scholar and Author of Mission Race and Empire, will sketch the history of the Becoming Beloved Community through the lens of a White philosopher, various activists, and churches, and Stephen Shaver, Rector of The Church of Incarnation, will offer a pastor’s view of how a thriving church strives for the beloved community.
